{"id":2565,"date":"2024-05-03T19:09:48","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T23:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ancientislands.org\/?p=2565"},"modified":"2024-05-03T19:09:48","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T23:09:48","slug":"hype-collides-with-reality-on-climate-stats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ancientislands.org\/?p=2565","title":{"rendered":"Hype Collides With Reality On Climate Stats"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Once again some of the national media have trumpeted the claim that last month was the hottest ever,but local statistics belie that claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordiing to the National Weather Service,&nbsp; April in Lakeland was either the 51<sup>st<\/sup> coolest or the 57<sup>th<\/sup> warmest&nbsp; April on record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Records dating to 1915 show there were warmer Aprils in 1922 and 1929.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Bartow, whose weather records date to&nbsp; 1892, the hottest April so far occurred in 1908. This year ranked 82<sup>nd<\/sup> on the warming scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It may have been warmer somewhere, but local data do not indicate cause for alarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frankly the data may lead people to wonder whether someone is cooking the books to promote their personal agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once again some of the national media have trumpeted the claim that last month was the hottest ever,but local statistics belie that claim.
